“Come Celebrate! The sun is up!”
The birds did sing,
And so I opened a weary eye in hope that it was spring.
To my surprise, what greeted me was a magical affair
The wonderment of new beginnings was present everywhere.
“Come Celebrate! The sun is up!”

We had a very nice turnout for our Dress A Girl Around the World celebration on May 23. Eight members of SITS joined us. SITS President-elect Nancy Muller reported our district made over 600 dresses and the region made over 4,000. The Northern California DAG Ambassador Sharon Miranda told us how the DAG project was created. I announced that our club made 208 dresses!
Our club’s individual winner is Roxie Upton who made 40 dresses that her daughter will take to Niger and Madagascar. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated in the project whether you sewed dresses, made a monetary donation or helped us stuff panties in the pockets of the dresses and roll them up for distribution.
Peggy Thomas, Chair of the Finance Committee, presented the proposed 2018-2019 budget at the Board and Business meetings. The Board will consider approving the budget at the next Board meeting and the club will be asked to ratify the proposed budget at the Business meeting.
