At Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe, we believe in supporting projects that create lasting, meaningful change for women, children, and communities around the world. That’s why we are proud to share an update on one of our donation recipients: Phase Two of the Subuiga Primary School Feeding & Farming Initiative in Kenya.
🌍 A Garden That Grows More Than Food
Our $1,000 donation is helping to build a new school garden at Subuiga Primary School. More than just rows of crops, this garden is a classroom in nature. Students are learning sustainable farming techniques that will serve them for life—while also gaining access to fresh, nutritious food each day.
In a heartfelt note from project coordinator Paige, she shared:
“Your support is helping us build the new school garden, which will provide fresh food for the students and teach them valuable farming skills. This garden is an important step toward long-term sustainability for the school, and your contribution made it possible. I’m truly grateful for your kindness and belief in this project.”
đź’ś Why It Matters
At SISLT, we look for ways to uplift underserved communities and invest in self-sufficiency. This garden project aligns with our mission to improve the lives of women and children by addressing food insecurity, promoting education, and empowering future leaders.
We are proud to stand behind grassroots initiatives like this—where every dollar has purpose and every seed planted is a step toward a brighter future.
